We then tried to catch the 99 back, but it was going to be a wait, so I took a risk and stopped at one of the walk-up seafood bars down there and got halibut and chips. Teddy was entertained enough from the ice from my water (why is it they give you the water in a smaller cup than the smallest cup of beverage you can purchase? That is so obnoxioius. I would _pay_ for water! Dammit. Whatever.) to let me actually eat as much of the fish and chips as I wanted. We then only had to wait a few minutes for the next bus. Almost missed it because I had to pack up the stroller. Hmmm. May try to figure out a way to do this without the stroller, since Teddy spends so little time in it anyway.
We then walked up Jackson, and Teddy slept enough so he didn't really want more nap, but he was starving, so we did that for a while. We walked over to the office (he walked almost the whole way; I had to pick him up when the cigarette butts became too interesting) to pick up a package, which turned out to be the Wee Ride. He played for a while and then I got us packed up and drove to Volunteer Park for the wading pool, which entertained him for most of an hour. Did not go towards the center of the pool this time. He wanted to get out of the pool by himself. After several efforts, he succeeded. Then he wanted to practice for a while. He still can't get in safely. One thing at a time, I guess.
He crashed hard on the way home, and napped for a few hours and is now up watching Tubbies with R. and playing with toys. Busy busy busy day.
