Monday's Activities Include: book group, two walks, a phone call

I went for a long walk by myself and had a lovely chat with my friend K. while I was out. It was sort of an impulse, which I'm glad I had because I realized later I wouldn't be able to have our chat on Wednesday. It's so exciting to get to hear about her daughters -- who are a bit older than my children -- heading off to high school and similar destinations.

I also had a nice walk with M.

I went to book group in the evening. I was thinking about going to one of the cheaper liquor stores while I was in New Hampshire, but it was closed at 6 and I didn't get into town until 6:15. Perhaps another time. We discussed Steinem's _My Life on the Road_, which I loved. Four of us present, all four of us gave it 5 stars out of 5 and we had a great discussion which, oddly, is rare for books we all love. The liveliest discussions often occur around books that people had differing opinions on, as we try to figure out what we each got out of it -- and how we felt about that. Great discussion about the book, politics, our lives, etc.

T. is watching the older Willie Wonka movie. Fun!
