Today's Activities Include: Oh, look. That's a USB connection

Along with a startling fraction of the middle-aged and up population, I have some issues with my gums. My most successful strategy for dealing with this involves a water pik (oral irrigator), which presents a bit of a dilemma when traveling. I've been using a portable one for a while now, alas, you cannot take it to Europe, because it's US voltage only. A little looking around on Amazon found me one that can work in either place, thus only requiring a plug adapter, which I also ordered. I was pleased earlier on in this process to learn that my Anker charging block just needed a different power cord to work overseas. Simple! What all of these have in common is that at some point, they pass through a USB connection (the Anker provides a bunch of USB connections).

Yes, Dear Reader, there are oral irrigators which have two part charging cables that involve a USB in the middle, so you can easily swap out for something that will work wherever you are.

Sorta makes you wonder where USB is going to turn up next.

I did not realize when I ordered it that it was going to work this way -- I just figured I'd slap a plug adapter on the far end of the power plug and trust them when they said it was okay with Euro voltages. But this is so much more reassuring.
