Gene Robinson has a purple watch

Bishop Gene Robinson was on the Colbert Report last night. His shirt had a white clerical collar but was hot, hot, hot pink, and his watch was purple: face and band.

I am _such_ a fan anyway, but who knew he had such incredible fashion sense? He is completely adorable.

You can find pictures of the pink shirt with the white clerical collar everywhere; I'm having more trouble finding the purple watch.

State Sales Taxes Link Fu

Starting with what I blogged about last year: http://walkitout.livejournal.com/896892.html

And this nice summary: http://www.salestaxsupport.com/blogs/sales-use-tax/internet-tax-ecommerce/marketplace-fairness-act-2013-new-comparison-mfa-2012/

Here's the website for the bill(s): http://www.marketplacefairness.org/

h/t to Jeff John Roberts over at gigaom: http://gigaom.com/2013/04/24/internet-sales-tax-whos-for-it-whos-against-what-comes-next/

I hadn't noticed that we were progressing on this again.

I'm not going to link to a lot of dumb coverage that is all over Amazon.com's support for these bills -- Amazon.com has been supporting various forms of this thing for years now. The gigaom piece links to bloomberg and NYT coverage.

I'm trying to figure out if I believe this thing is really going to pass this time. I keep thinking it will, but it hasn't yet, so clearly I'm bad at predicting this.
